Esther Klein Gallery Exhibit, Intergalactic Geographic Retrospective Looks 3,000 Years Ahead
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) June 09, 2016 -- What will scientific journals look like 3,000 years from now? Intergalactic Geographic Retrospective, the newest exhibit at the University City Science Center’s Esther Klein Gallery (EKG), will offer some answers to those who are willing to suspend reality and take a trip into the future.
The mixed-media, sci-fi comic-book-inspired exhibition by Pat Aulisio and Josh Burggraf, will open on June 16, 2016 and run through July 30th. An opening reception will be held at EKG, located at 3600 Market Street in Philadelphia, on Thursday June 16th, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, July 30th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Innovation Plaza, a pocket park located on 37th Street between Market and Chestnut Streets.
The exhibition features work by the farcical publication from the future’s galactic journalists, photographers, holographers, dark mirror reporters, and primetime superstars in a retrospective that spans thousands of years. Aulisio and Burggraf will debut a special-edition printed copy of Intergalactic Geographic as part of the show.
Pat Aulisio is a Philadelphia-based artist and educator focused primarily in comics with hobbies including amateur time travel. By day, Josh Burggraf works as a commercial animator and storyboard artist; by night he is the editor of the Astro Plus Press where he constructs alternate personal universes on paper, the web and on screen.
