ETA® Announces Exciting Changes to the Student Electronics Technician Certification Exam
Greencastle, IN (PRWEB) January 27, 2015 -- ETA International's Student Electronics Technician (SET) certification starts high school students and entry-level technicians on a career pathway in the high-demand electronics industry. The exam covers a variety of topics including: Electrical Theory, Electronic Components, Cabling, Electronic Circuits, Digital Concepts and Circuitry and Basic Telecommunications. A complete list of competencies can be viewed at http://www.eta-i.org. Students successfully passing the SET exam will earn the SET certification issued by ETA.
Many schools across the country are familiar with NOCTI as the premier assessment provider for Career and Technical instruction. This collaboration will allow classroom teachers to not only assess student progress but also provide industry based third party certification from the gold standard in electronics certification.
Also, this provides classroom instructors the option to combine the NOCTI hands-on component in concert with ETA’s SET to offer the student a unique SET certification with an ETA-approved hands-on endorsement.
Upon successful completion of the SET, NOCTI will issue the completer a digital badge that can be linked to their digital portfolio. If the student then would like to pursue an Associate CET, they may do so through normal ETA-I channels at a reduced rate.
ETA Certification Administrators may continue to order the SET until July 1, 2015. After that time, all SET exams must be ordered and administered through NOCTI. The Associate Certified Electronics Technician and all other certifications in the ETA catalogue, continue to be available directly through ETA.
