ETA’s Education Forum Goes to Orlando
Greencastle, IN (PRWEB) June 07, 2017 -- ETA International’s Education Forum 2018 at IWCE will add three new hands-on training workshops to the program next year along with many of the popular hands-on training workshops that are expected to be hosted by ETA. Conducted by respected industry experts, all hands-on training workshops lead to ETA accredited certifications.
Because cyberspace and its underlying infrastructure are vulnerable to a wide range of risks stemming from both physical and cyber threats and hazards, the demand for an experienced and qualified workforce to protect networks and information systems has never been higher. To help meet this increasing demand, ETA will host the cybersecurity Information Technology Specialist (ITS) certification workshop, which will be conducted by Matthew Gonzales, PhD, CEH, CHFI, PMP, Cyber Program Director, University of Charleston, West Virginia (UCWV).
Gonzales said, “UCWV is ready to partner with ETA to help train the next set of cyber warriors!” He added, “Collaboration between the two organizations will allow UCWV to further refine and develop its content as it relates to the needs of employers and members of ETA.”
Practical solutions for telecommunications in rural and remote areas are included in Education Forum 2018. Since much network infrastructure is in remote locations, several communications professionals have expressed the desire to learn installation techniques for photovoltaic (solar) panels. ETA is excited to host the Photovolatic Installer – Level 1 (PVI1) workshop at EF18@IWCE for the first time as it is a great fit for the network infrastructure audience. Conducting this workshop is ETA’s Renewable Energy Division Chair, Jay Warmke, PVI1, SWI1, of Blue Rock Station (Philo, Ohio).
“This training was one of the best theory and hands-on trainings I have ever received and as a result, I have built my second 10 kW solar generator based on the instructions,” said past workshop attendee James Mosley Jr, CETma, of Ft. Campbell, KY.
Also new to EF18 will be the Mobile Communications and Electronics Technician (MCET) workshop, which is the second level in this professional certification series. The course will cover a review of Mobile Communications and Electronics Installer (MCEI), proper techniques and procedures for the installation of aftermarket equipment, advanced troubleshooting, antenna installation and tuning, circuits and circuit analysis with mathematics, Radio Frequency (RF) Energy and safety for the installer and vehicle occupants. Instructor Chris Dalton of Radio Systems Analytics will accompany hands-on labs with classroom lecture for maximum learner retention.
“Employees are the greatest asset to any organization and MCEI Level 2 is designed to identify, mitigate and avoid risk exposure to equipment installation service shops and to enhance the safety of installer personnel through education,” Dalton emphasized.
Popular hands-on training workshops that will be hosted include: Certified Electronics Technician, Distributed Antenna Systems, Fiber to the Antenna, General Communications Technician, Levels 1 and 2, Line and Antenna Sweep, Microwave Radio Technician, R56 Communications Site Installer and RF Interference Mitigation. Top-level industry trainers will come from such respected companies as ATRG Technical Services, Bird Technologies, Blue Rock Station, Commdex Consulting, Dover Telecommunications Services, Ira Wiesenfeld & Associates Technical Services, Light Brigade, Radio Systems Analytics and Thompson Communications, along with instructors from Heartland Community College and UCWV.
Continuing the effort to increase awareness of the growing need for certified wireless communications professionals, ETA will once again partner with IWCE at the Job Education and Training Center, which includes an annual scholarship for one student and one Veteran to attend IWCE.
