ETCO Launches Insulation Displacement Connector Microsite and Informational Center
Bradenton, FL (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- ETCO Incorporated announced today that a new microsite and informational center for Insulation Displacement Connector product has launched. The microsite and informational center, available for viewing online at http://www.etco.com/idc contains extensive information on this dynamic product. The site exists to provide an outlet for engineers to integrate the insulation Displacement connector family of products into upcoming and current projects and product designs. Visitors can view datasheets, photos and contact ETCO engineers via the microsite.
The Insulation Displacement Connector is the latest updated connector product from ETCO. It functions primarily by mechanically forcing unstripped wire under moderate pressure into a V-shaped fork. They are used as a means to reliably and cost-effectively connect high volumes of wires for power and data applications. The inside edges of the V-shaped fork contains blades that slice through the insulation as the wire is pushed between them. As the insulation is cut and pushed aside, the bare wire is exposed and comes in contact with the terminating blades. The blades also penetrate any surface oxides that may be on the wire.
The Insulation Displacement Connector microsite will also serve as an engineering resource for individuals looking for a novel, cost-effective method of managing data and power wiring in telecommunications, data and aviation applications. With custom applications available due to ETCO’s unique method of manufacturing these connectors, end use possibilities are unlimited and the microsite provides data on custom engineering methods specific to IDC.
ETCO’s Senior Director of Marketing, Sam Francois states, “ETCO’s IDC microsite is the culmination of development for a product that’s intuitive to use for engineers while providing second and first tier manufacturers an invaluable informational resource on this product.”
