European Springs Excited to Contribute Towards Garden for RHS Flower Show Tatton Park
(PRWEB UK) 12 May 2014 -- European Springs & Pressings Ltd are excited to be able to contribute towards a prize-winning garden for the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, taking place in July this year. The design, called "See the Wind" and created by garden designer Joan Mulvenna and artist Andrew Lee, is one of only five selected and sponsored by the RHS as a result of their “Elements” themed competition, and is designed to evoke and reveal the motion of the wind. A striking feature of this garden will be the “Wind Cloud” sculpture, designed by Andrew, which includes components supplied by European Springs.
By using a three dimensional grid of identical “tell-tales”, which are able to respond to the strength and direction of the breeze, the Wind Cloud is designed to help reveal the unseen currents, waves and vortexes within the wind. The structure of the sculpture is intended to be practically invisible, ensuring that the focus of the viewer is on the movement of the tell-tales rather than that of the sculpture itself. To achieve this, every component had to be made as light and small as possible. Andrew approached European Springs to create the connection point for the tell-tales; a vital component which Andrew could not buy ready-made or make himself.
A spokesperson for European Springs said: “Andrew Lee’s Wind Cloud sculpture is a fascinating and very creative piece of artwork, and we were very excited to be approached as contributors to the piece. With our expertise in developing bespoke springs and components, we were able to design and provide exceptionally small and light-weight components to meet all his requirements and we are looking forward to seeing the finished piece in place at the Tatton Park show later this year.”
Andrew Lee is a former professional yachtsman who now specialises in the creation of sculptures inspired by the dynamic aspects of nature, especially the wind. The Wind Cloud is the largest such sculpture that he has created to date, and is the first time that he has collaborated on a complete garden.
