New York, New York (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- My Last Day Without You (2012 Black Reel Outstanding Independent Film Award winner) is a film chronicling a German business executive’s (Ken Duken) one-day trip to New York. He meets a singer-songwriter from Brooklyn (Nicole Beharie), whose character’s music is featured throughout the film.
Staying close to the New York City songwriting scene, award-winning director and co-writer, Stefan Schaefer (Arranged, Confess) commissioned NYC-based Grammy-Award winning Producer/Songwriter/Engineer Scott Jacoby to create the Soundtrack for the film. Jacoby is also founder of the label, Eusonia Records, under which the Soundtrack was released.
The film has garnered attention since its independent release in 2012, in part due to its leading actor’s rising star. Nicole Beharie (Shame, 42, Sleepy Hollow) sang 5 of the original songs co-written, produced, and mixed by Scott Jacoby. The title track for the film has been nominated for Best Original Song for the 2012 Black Reel Awards.
The Soundtrack also features the original music of 3 Grammy-nominated artists: Maiysha, Carolyn Malachi, and Kokayi. It will be released to Spotify and iTunes November 5, 2013.
Eusonia is a NYC-based label. My Last Day Without You had its theatrical release October 4, 2013 via AMC Theaters and will be released on cable, DVD, VOD, and Internet in early 2014.
