Eva’s Village and Weinberger Law Group of New Jersey Announce New “Give The Gift” Charitable Donations Project
Parsippany, New Jersey (PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- Those interested in making a charitable donation to Eva’s Village, the 4-star Charity Navigator-rated non-profit organization serving the homeless, working poor and people in need of a second chance in Paterson, New Jersey, now have an innovative new way to do so, thanks to the charity’s recently unveiled “Give the Gift” program, sponsored by Weinberger Law Group of New Jersey.
The goal of Give the Gift is to provide charitable donors with the ability to purchase goods and services that go directly to those receiving help from Eva’s Village. Examples of available “gifts” include providing a nutritious meal for 10 at the homeless shelter (donation cost: $66), textbooks for one person receiving work training through The Culinary School at Eva’s Village (donation cost: $150), and covering one night of care for a mother and child at the Hope Residence (donation cost: $120).
The project came into being when Bari Weinberger, founder and managing partner of Weinberger Law Group, began thinking about how to step up the family law firm’s annual holiday tradition of charitable giving.
“As a firm, we wanted to do something really different and unique this year ... something that could really maximize how we’re able to help the local community. One of our team members came up with the idea to work with Eva's Village, a fantastic local and neighboring New Jersey charity. The thought was to focus on specific items that Eva's Village might need, since people like to know where their contributions are actually going, and custom build it with some of their local images,” Weinberger explains.
After getting in contact with Dale Calvert, President of Eva’s Village Board of Directors, who was thrilled with the idea of a new gift-giving web page, the Give the Gift program officially kicked off, sponsored by Weinberger Law Group. Now live, donations to Give the Gift can be made by visiting Eva’s Village or Weinberger Law Group's charitable donations page. As a way to help spread the word, anyone who wishes to embed the Give the Gift information on their own website may do so by using the code found at the bottom of the donation's page: http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/evasvillage.aspx
With the holiday season typically the high point of the year for charitable giving, Weinberger hopes the next few weeks produces lots of “online shopping” for Eva’s Village. However, she also envisions Give the Gift as a gift that can truly keep on giving.
“We built this as a way to support our local community at Eva’s Village year round, during the holidays and beyond, with the ability to easily change to different gifts as the seasons or needs of Eva's Village change” the attorney notes. “We encourage businesses and individuals, whenever there’s a special occasion or you achieve an important goal, to celebrate with a gift to Eva’s Village. It’s such an easy way to pay-it-forward and because Eva’s Village has a 4-star charity rating, which is the highest, you can feel assured that your charity dollars are being used with fiscal responsibility. Really, this is a win-win.”
Originally a New Jersey soup kitchen, Eva’s Village (http://www.evasvillage.org) was founded in 1982 by Msgr. Vincent E. Puma in response to the increasing incidence of homelessness in Paterson, NJ. But Msgr. Puma soon realized that another New Jersey soup kitchen was not enough. With the generous support of thousands of donors and private and government grants, Eva’s Village has grown into the most comprehensive anti-poverty program in New Jersey, providing food, shelter, recovery programs, free medical and dental care and transitional and affordable housing, plus opportunities for education, workforce development and more.
