Evers & Co. Reports Greater Increase in Suburb Sales, Showing Summer Trend in Greater Washington, D.C. Real Estate Market
Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 17, 2015 -- In July 2015, average sale prices for the close-in Washington metro real estate market have been relatively static, showing a 1.8 percent gain in average price since last July. In July, the region saw an even greater increase in the dollar volume of sales in the suburbs than in June.
Fairfax County showed a 24.8 percent increase in dollar volume of sales, compared to an 18.3 percent increase in June. Montgomery County which saw a 12 percent increase in June, nearly doubled with a 22.3 percent increase in July. The suburbs had been experiencing pretty sluggish sales in the last several months before the summer season compared to the District, but are finally gathering steam.
Each month, Donna Evers, president and broker of Evers & Co., reviews the residential real estate statistics provided by the Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS).
“Since properties are now selling at or above their all-time high in late 2005 and early 2006, sellers who have been waiting for prices to go up don’t have to wait any longer,” said Donna Evers. ”While buyers may still have to compete in the hot neighborhoods throughout the District, they now have many better loan alternatives coupled with still very low interest rates. These factors should make the buying process in today’s market easier.”
Evers & Co. remains the largest independent, woman-owned and -operated real estate company in the metropolitan area, with 110 passionate and dedicated agents and four offices— including two in the District, one in Bethesda/Chevy Chase and one in Virginia. Evers & Co. also has an international membership with Leverage Global Partners.
