Evidence In Motion Principal to Participate in Wild West Relay
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- Evidence In Motion (EIM) is proud to announce that principal Tim Flynn, PT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT, and co-owner of Colorado Physical Therapy Specialists (ColPTS), will be participating in the 11th annual Wild West Relay on August 1-2, 2014, as part of a relay team including Commander Steve Swanson, who is currently serving as commander of the International Space station.
The Wild West Relay spans 200 miles from Fort Collins, CO to Steamboat, CO. Dr. Flynn, Commander Swanson, Dottie Metcalf-Lindeburger, former NASA astronaut and shuttle crew member, Captain Suni Williams, NASA astronaut and previous International Space Station commander, Carie Alexander, sister-in-law of Commander Swanson, and Bredt Eggleston, owner of ASI Succeed in Fort Collins, will participate in the relay as part of an ultra, six-person team. Each team member will be responsible for approximately 33.3 miles of the race.
Commander Swanson is currently spending six months in space and will be performing his six legs of the race on a specialized treadmill which helps fight muscle weakness and bone loss due to lack of gravity. Dr. Flynn is also participating in the relay to raise awareness about the benefits of exercise and promote optimal bone health and osteoporosis prevention.
“I’m thrilled to be participating in the Wild West Relay this year,” said Dr. Flynn. “This is a fabulous opportunity to be part of a unique team of scientists who are pushing the envelope of knowledge. I hope we can raise awareness both to the wonder of discovery and the necessity of exercise to maintain health.”
