eVisit Announces Dr. Scott Orava as Chief Medical Officer
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) April 13, 2015 -- eVisit, a telemedicine software company delivering an innovative patient engagement telehealth platform, is proud to announce Dr. Scott Orava as the company’s Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Orava’s experience in medicine contributes to eVisit’s mission of being a physician-first company dedicated to meeting the needs of healthcare providers and their patients.
A graduate of the Creighton University School of Medicine, Orava was an emergency physician at over 10 different facilities, including Banner Desert Medical Center. He attributes his unique outlook on health technology to the 20 years he spent in his practice.
“I saw an opportunity in eVisit to use my knowledge of the healthcare system to help build a healthcare delivery solution that both physicians and patients would love,” Orava said. Additionally, Orava was the Chief Medical Officer at Gold Canyon University, where he established and implemented the clinical direction of programs. His expertise reflects the standard to which eVisit holds all team members.
“Bringing someone of Scott’s caliber onto the eVisit team is a big deal for us,” said Bret Larsen, eVisit’s CEO. Larsen said that while all members of the eVisit team are leaders in their fields, Orava’s extensive experience as a physician brings an insider’s perspective of the healthcare system. “Scott’s expertise allows eVisit to truly understand the pain points our customers face every day,” Larsen added.
The company’s president and one of Phoenix’s top doctors, Glen McCracken, is also an experienced emergency room physician. Understandably, Dr. McCracken has a strong grasp on how Orava has already impacted the team. “He brings great enthusiasm,” McCracken said, emphasizing the way Orava’s dedication and passion inspires the entire staff.
Larsen added that for eVisit’s users, having someone like Orava on the team means a well-tailored product.
“He knows what real problems look like, and we solve real problems,” Larsen said.
