Organizing the wide variety of content on this site was key to the success of this website redesign. We decided to focus on the three main types of users: families, professionals and members of the community. By establishing these sections right from the start, users can find the information they need quickly and easily.
"Working on the Child Care Connection website redesign was an eye opening experience. Not being a parent myself, I had never given much thought to child care, and especially not to the different audiences interested in the topic. Keeping the diverse range of users in mind at all times, we came up with an extremely useful resource for the residents of Northeast Ohio and all of their child care needs," said Kiersten Bonifant, Web Designer at Evolve Creative Group.
Condensing information was also important, making it easier for a user to take it all in. For example, under the Family section, there are several pages designed to help families select the right child care program. We've used jQuery accordions to break down this information into more digestible pieces. Checklists are also available for download on most pages, for users who prefer printed materials.
