Executive Producer Ray Iddings Champions Songwriters and Independent Musicians In “Gearheads” Television Show
Nashville, TN - Houston, TX - Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Putting original music in television shows is big business for songwriters and independent musicians. One of the best ways for independent artists to break into a larger audience is to place a song in a popular television show.
“It doesn’t have to be such a mystery,” says Ray Iddings. “I think by taking down the curtain and letting people see how we do what we do, it will help everybody get great music and great TV.”
“The exposure an artist or songwriter can get from having songs licensed for film, television or advertising is huge,” explains Amanda Williams, Hillbilly Culture LLC. Owner, parent company of the Songwriting and Music Business dot com community education site. “Getting a song on TV rivals radio in its ability to get an independent songwriter and artist’s music to potential fans,”
Williams and Iddings share a passion for helping creators find employment for their original works, while teaching what they have learned about the arts as a medium for healthy self-expression.
“Ray got this crazy idea at our Nashville Songwriting and Music Business Conference this year, and decided he was committing himself to placing our SMB Community’s music in his next TV show to help us see how they do it in the real world.”
While placing their original songs and recordings in to various scenes in Ray’s television show “Gearheads” based on real life Fastlane garage in Houston, Texas, the songwriters will be learning first hand what the process of licensing music to a television show is like.
“It’s a great example of win-win,” says Williams of her and Iddings’s project. “Our songwriting community benefits from the hands on experience, while getting paid to put our music into a television show. What could be better?” she laughs.
