Executives In Action Announces Call for Impact Service Grant Applications
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- Executives In Action (EIA) is pleased to announce it is now accepting fall grant applications through November 20, 2015. EIA partners North Texas nonprofit grant recipients with experienced business executives in the midst of shifting careers, that the nonprofit would otherwise not be able to afford. The goal of the grant partnerships is to deliver meaningful results that create transformational change within the nonprofit organization, and ultimately the members of our community who need the executive’s services.
"The nonprofits we work with are diverse in mission, but they all have one thing in common – they are working to make an impact in our community and in order to continue to do so they need a little extra expertise,” Andrea White, EIA’s director of grants and programs explained. “Over the years we have seen how our executive teams have been able to help nonprofits grow and more successfully fulfill their goals. Perhaps the most rewarding projects are when the executives continue the working relationships as board members or advisors as they come to truly care about the success of the nonprofit."
Executives work with grant recipients over a six-month time period, reporting back to EIA on progress made and suggested next steps. Earlier this year, EIA began working with 2015 grant-recipient Dallas Teacher Residency (DTR), which serves and impacts students, teachers and future teachers within Dallas Independent School District by recruiting aspiring teachers and preparing them to become effective in urban schools. An EIA executive, Michael Brown, worked with the DTR team to develop a strategic plan, assist with board development and build a financial revenue model so that Dallas Teacher Residency could increase the number of teachers they are able to train from 14 to 250 by 2020.
“As a relatively new organization, Dallas Teacher Residency has a number of needs and faces a number of different challenges that in a sense all need to be addressed at some level simultaneously to ensure we are continuing to progress,” said Robert DeHaas, co-founder and CEO of Dallas Teacher Residency. “When we began working with our EIA executive, Michael Brown back in February, we anticipated receiving a few hours of support towards a tangible project. Nine months and countless hours later, our relationship with Michael continues to exist. Since the beginning, Michael has been a true champion of our efforts, worn many hats, provided invaluable advice, helped make connections, and in many ways - served as a board member that has made himself available at any time, for any reason, always willing to provide support and insight. Much of this support is 'intangible' - but it has been tremendous and a huge part of the reason our organization is where we are now.”
2015 grants were also awarded to: Akola Project, Alley’s House, Assistance Center of Collin County, Behind Every Door, Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County, CitySquare, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas, Dallas Afterschool, Exodus Ministries, Hearts for Homes, Heroes on the Water, One Man’s Treasure, Paul Quinn College, Promise House, SpiritHorse Therapeutic Riding Center, St. Philip’s School and Community Center, The Salvation Army and Voice of Hope Ministries, Inc.
