(PRWEB) December 21, 2015 -- The East-West Shrine Game, the nation’s oldest college football All Star game, will air January 23, 2016 on an expanded radio network including more than 150 Yahoo! Broadcast live from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, Patrick Kinas will lead the broadcast team for the fifth year and will be joined by retired NFL and MLB All-Star Brian Jordan as analyst and Michigan Broadcaster Rick Berkey handling the sidelines. Kinas, the Voice of the Durham Bulls, is a veteran college football and basketball radio and television broadcaster. The game day broadcast begins at 3:15pm ET.
The four and a half hour broadcast is filled with exciting game action, interesting player stories and interviews conducted live from the sidelines and will highlight the important work of Shriners Hospitals for Children as parents and patient ambassadors are featured. The iconic game serves as a major post season NFL showcase for college seniors with proceeds benefitting the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children across the United States, Canada and Mexico that have treated nearly 1.1 million children regardless of a family’s financial status since the 1920s.
The worldwide broadcast is sponsored in part by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, the official tourism marketing and management organization for Pinellas County, home to 35 miles of award-winning beaches, including four of the top 10 winners in USA TODAY’s “Best Florida Beach” poll, and an arts scene that includes St. Pete’s must-see Dalí Museum.
In addition to the game play-by-play broadcast on January 23rd, the Yahoo! Sports Radio Network will air five hours of game week remote broadcasts January 22 and 23 from the TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach, the official game headquarters properties. These broadcasts will be hosted by radio sports broadcaster Nick Gryniewicz and will feature players, coaches and other guests.
