Expansion of Voiceover and Multimedia Localization Services at EQHO Communications
Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- For two consecutive years, EQHO has experienced a dramatic increase in demand for multilingual voiceover and multimedia localization services. Voiceover and multimedia revenue increased by over 60% from 2011, representing nearly 20% of the company’s business in 2012. The first half of 2013 indicates that this year’s growth will be significant.
Growth can be attributed to the acquisition of several high profile corporate eLearning clients, and expanded partnerships with the localization global Top 50 language service providers (LSP’s). The company has become recognized within the localization industry as one of the most reliable and scalable partners for multilingual voiceover and multimedia localization.
Steven Bussey, EQHO’s VP of Global Marketing commented – “Sustained growth is expected in voiceover and multimedia localization, which is still considered by many as something of a dark art. EQHO however, has developed a very competitive and reliable offering over the past 10 years.”
“Wider growth is influenced by a shift in consumer content preferences from textual to visual. Visual content is proven to generate better audience responses. Companies are increasingly using multimedia to communicate including audio, video, animation, and presentations.”

To reach global audiences, businesses must localize and adapt this material for international users. Multimedia localization is a complex process, requiring the latest software, hardware, and recording facilities. EQHO Communications, recently listed as one of Asia’s top 30 vendors by Common Sense Advisory, is investing heavily to meet demands in 2013.
The company continues to expand its in-house voiceover and multimedia engineering department, and boasts professional voice recording studios on site. Additional studios are scheduled for construction in the second half of 2013. With a database of over 600 local voice artists, script directors and language quality assurance staff, clients can easily make voice selections from the company’s voice bank which supports over 50 languages.
EQHO maintains a comprehensive multimedia training and recruitment program to ensure engineering proficiency in all major multimedia applications; a list which includes Adobe Flash, Captivate & Premier, Articulate Studio and Lectora. The latest addition to EQHO’s multimedia tool line-up is Storyline. The newest offering from the eLearning software developer Articulate, Storyline is highly versatile, and is set to take the eLearning industry by storm. Steven Bussey, EQHO’s VP of Global Marketing points out “for several years we have seen significant demand for localization of courses created in Articulate (Studio) and Lectora. Assuming that Articulate Storyline is as good as everybody says it is, we expect a similar level of demand.”
Projects are performed almost entirely in-house to maintain control and ensure overall quality. This includes in-house testing of all localized multimedia products in over 50 languages. Testing is conducted by native speakers of each language, which is made possible by EQHO’s large local resource network. Testing of linguistic, operational, and cosmetic elements ensures that desired functionality is achieved, language quality is maintained, and material is culturally appropriate for international audiences.
