Experience the Re-launch of Fila’s Website Developed by Precision Design Studios
Providence, RI (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- On April 7, 2014, Precision Design Studios (PDS) launched the latest release of Fila’s website (http://www.fila.com).
The history between PDS and Fila dates back to 2010 when PDS launched Fila’s first Demandware site. As one of PDS’ original clients, Fila was showered with personalized attention and appreciated PDS’ willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the project’s success.
Kelly Funke, Vice President of U.S. Marketing at Fila, states, “There’s a tremendous amount of dedication on the part of the developers to get it right. They consistently translate ‘client speak’ to ‘developer speak’ and produce exactly what we are envisioning.”
Since its initial launch four years ago, Fila’s e-commerce business has grown immensely, and PDS has been standing by its side offering support and strategic consulting services right on through. “Kevin [PDS Founder and CEO] is as concerned about our company’s growth as he is about his own company’s, and that’s something you don’t find everywhere,” Funke continued.
With the impending need to develop an upgraded site, Funke couldn’t imagine turning to anyone but PDS for the implementation, especially when PDS told her she’d be working with the same developer who had been handling Fila’s support tickets over the past year. Her team was happy to be working with someone they knew and trusted.
PDS upgraded Fila’s site to the latest Demandware platform, Site Genesis 2, to increase the site’s speed and stability. PDS’ creative team also contributed to the design of the site, particularly in the checkout funnel, incorporating best practices and vastly improving customer usability.
But what Funke is most excited for the new site is the unique “parallax scrolling” on the home page, a special technique in computer graphics, wherein background images move by the camera slower than foreground images, creating an illusion of depth. PDS developers put their skills to the test in translating this complex animation to function flawlessly on tablets, which they are happy to report was a success.
In the next phase of the project, launching early May 2014, PDS will develop a responsive mobile site for Fila.
With all of these upgrades and new features, Fila’s customers will enjoy a one-of-a-kind shopping experience that’s truly engaging.
