Experienced Intelligence Expert Named Faculty of the Year
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- Henley-Putnam’s security, counterterrorism, and intelligence studies students nominating Professor Haag for this award emphasize his ability to consistently challenge them to achieve and succeed in their academic endeavors. David Haag has been a professor with Henley-Putnam University since 2009. He is a retired Foreign Service Supervisory Special Agent with the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of State, who now does security consulting with the State Department and the private sector. During his almost twenty-four years with DSS, Mr. Haag served as a Regional Security Officer (RSO) at the American Embassies in Mexico City, Canberra, Australia, Kingston, Jamaica and Budapest, Hungary. Domestic assignments included tours on the Secretary of State’s protective detail, mobile training team leader, counterintelligence division section chief for Eastern Europe, and Regional Director for DSS International Programs in the Western Hemisphere, where he was responsible for more that 100 RSOs and 65 posts in the region. Prior to joining DSS, Mr. Haag worked for almost seven years with the FBI as an intelligence analyst and legal analyst and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College and an undergraduate degree in History from Dickinson College.
Nominations made by both students and members of Henley-Putnam University’s Academic Affairs Administration determine the annual recipient of the Faculty Excellence Award. Academic Affairs Administration reviews all nominations received for the award, focusing on the distinguishing contributions of the nominees, their length of service with the University, types of service within the University, and other notable contributions or achievements, especially as those contributions relate to the University mission and institutional learning outcomes. The Award is decided by a vote, and the winner receives a certificate acknowledging this award.
