Experienced Sports Marketer Guillermo Rojas Jr. Joins World T.E.A.M. Sports Board
Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) December 29, 2015 -- National non-profit World T.E.A.M. Sports announced today the election of Guillermo Rojas Jr as a member of the organization’s board of directors. Rojas joins the organization’s founder James Benson and six other board members in directing the disabled sports non-profit in 2016.
The Managing Partner for Colorado Springs-based TORRE Consulting Services, a marketing, sales and event activation company that works with a diverse client base including the U.S. Olympic Committee, Rojas is knowledgeable in sports marketing and in creating successful partnerships through brand development. His experience in successful event marketing, athlete integration and sales and business development has provided exceptional assistance to several sports organizations.

Sports board as he brings a wealth of experience in sports marketing across many venues,” said George Puskar, a board member who is retiring in 2016. “His career includes working at the New York City Marathon, the US Olympic Committee, and most recently on both the Tour of California and Pro Team Challenge cycling events. He has participated in the World T.E.A.M. Sports’ Adventure Team Challenge over the past two years and understands our mission and is fully committed to advancing our agenda in both the sponsorship and event management arena. "
As a participant in World T.E.A.M. Sports' Adventure Team Challenge in 2014 and 2015, Rojas has teamed with disabled and able-bodied athletes in completing challenging stages in the annual sporting event in Colorado. In the 2015 Challenge, held in the rugged Gore Mountain Range northeast of Eagle, team activities included river rafting, orienteering, rock climbing and off-road bicycling. In the competition, Rojas was teamed with four athletes, including two with disabilities, one being a wheelchair user.
Rojas has been active throughout his career in outdoor sports. Following his graduation from New York University in 1995, he has worked with the Goodwill Games, the New York Road Runners, the US Olympic Committee and USA Swimming. Most recently, for four years beginning in 2011, Rojas served as Vice President for King of the Mountain Sports, working with clients including USA Wrestling, the World Cycling League, Amgen Tour of California, the Tour of Alberta and the USA Pro Challenge in Colorado.

I look forward to helping create exposure for the mission, brand and the inspiring individuals that surround the organization. My focus will be to increase and diversify revenue streams in order to help disabled men, women and children accomplish their dreams.”
Rojas is the organization’s first board member in the American west since 2012. The 42-year-old Colorado resident will begin active participation in meetings beginning in February 2016.
