Expert on Boko Haram, Nigeria’s Political Situation and Unrest is Available to Comment on Breaking News

Dr. Darren Kew, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Dr. Kew can comment on the uprising of Boko Haram and the effect of its stronghold on Nigeria, threats to the U.S. and the world as well as the implications of delaying, and possible outcomes of, the Nigerian elections.
WHAT:
Dr. Kew will be in Nigeria to help facilitate the upcoming Nigerian election on March 28, 2015.
He will be part of an international group of civic leaders, election experts and regional specialists to offer impartial observation, enhance voter confidence and show solidarity with the people of Nigeria.
The 2015 election is its most closely contested since military rule ended in 1999. The election is occurring during a time of massive unrest and instability caused by Boko Haram.
Dr. Kew can also speak to conflicts—religious and otherwise in North Korea, Israel and Palestine.
