Expert on Maternal and Child Health Joins Abt Associates
Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Judith Moore, an expert with more than 30 years of experience in public health programming with a focus on women and children, has joined Abt Associates as a principal associate where she will serve as the strategic lead for maternal and child health in Abt’s International Health Division.
Moore, a nurse and midwife, most recently served as Senior Director for Women and Children’s Health at Project HOPE, where she led the women’s and children’s health portfolio, including private sector initiatives.

Moore has worked in a clinical and technical advisory capacity for both the U.S. and U.K. governments, as well as major non-governmental organizations, including 16 years with Save the Children UK and USA. She also served as the senior technical advisor on the Gates-Foundation funded Saving Newborn Lives Initiative. In addition, Moore provided maternal and child health program management overseas for Jhpiego.
Moore, who has lived and worked in six developing countries and been involved with supporting many more programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America, has taught clinical midwifery, trained health workers and been deployed to several major humanitarian emergencies. She has served in diverse program management roles and as a technical advisor at country, regional and headquarters levels.
She holds an MSc degree in Primary Health Care Management for Developing Countries from the University of Wales and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also was a fellow in the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
