Extra Dates Added for American Med Spa Association's Popular Laser & Light Therapy Course
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- AmSpa and True U Laser announced today that a forth laser training course has been added due to popular demand. The course will be held on March 3rd and 4th at True U Laser.
“We are overwhelmed with the response we’ve received to this course,” said AmSpa Marketing Director Gina Shaffer. “The first three courses sold out almost immediately, so we felt we needed to add an additional course for those students looking for high-quality, hands-on laser training.”
Students who enroll in the Laser & Light Therapy Course will spend the first day learning the basics of laser physics and safety, and will also receive training on the regulations governing the use of lasers in Illinois. Training with live models will be held on day two, with students closely supervised by licensed medical professionals.
Students are educated in state-of-the-art facilities and use the most advanced equipment and products to expand their education. All models are under the care and treatment of a licensed physician and consent to being treated by students.
The American Med Spa Association, which launched a comprehensive state-by-state summary of laser laws in 2013, will offer regulatory and legal compliance instruction as part of the course.
“We are excited to offer this course,” said Alex Thiersch, Founder and Director of AmSpa. “There is a huge need for practical, hands-on training in this industry, and the only way to get that is to use live models in a supervised medical setting.”
The course instructor is Terri Wojak, LE, the Education Director/Founder for True U Esthetics, Inc. and True U Laser, Inc. She has been working in aesthetics for over 17 years. Terri lectures at multiple esthetic conferences each year and is frequently published in esthetic industry magazines. She has trained over 1,000 professionals in the art of advanced skin care with a specialization in techniques used in a medical setting.
Wojak’s new book “Aesthetics Exposed: Mastering Skin Care in a Medical Setting and Beyond” is due for publication in March.
