Fabletics and Kate Hudson Award $20,000 in Grants to Group of Female Leaders
El Segundo (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Fabletics, the lifestyle activewear line co-founded by Kate Hudson and JustFab Inc., are pleased to announce the grantees of the 2013 “What Moves You” grant program. Four women each received $5,000 to pursue their passion of helping others lead healthy and active lives. Each proposal submitted was judged based on its quality and completeness, potential social impact, and potential in successfully driving meaningful change in their community. The funded projects range from a children’s exercise program that teaches kids the importance of keeping their bodies healthy, to educational programs that will help encourage students to think about what they are eating and make healthier food choices.
“We are so proud of these four incredible women who each have a dream and aspire to help others,” said Hudson. “The grant recipients have worked so hard to help their communities, and our ‘What Moves You’ grants are allowing them to continue pursuing their passion.”

The 2013 Fabletics “What Moves You” Grantees are:
--Constance Anderson from Spring Hill, FL who is educating students on how to live healthier lives through better eating habits and everyday fitness with Tiger Fit Club. She aids students in gaining confidence and helps themrealize that there is fitness beyond sports and P.E. class.
--Sandrine Harris from Lakeville, CT who is launching a Whole Body Wellness community program that focuses on health through movement and dance. Her workshops teach individuals how moving every day can change your life both physically and mentally. She wants to gather people in a dynamic and fun learning environment to build relationships and spread awareness of total body health and wellness within the community.
--Amy Merritt from Georgetown, SC who is creating a children’s exercise program, Optimistic Kids EnergiZing, aimed at keeping fitness fun for kids. The goal is to teach children that a balanced diet and physical activity will help them and excel in school, build strong bones and muscles, boost energy, and maintain healthy weight. By achieving this goal, she hopes to set the foundation to deter adult obesity.
--Michelle Weber from St. Perrysburg, OH who is developing an educational health program at Weber Ranch to encourage healthy eating habits in their young community. By visiting elementary schools and creating hands on interactive art projects she will teach young adults the value of whole foods. Using her family ranch as a backdrop, students will see the origin of the food they eat and keep the focus on wholesome foods as the foundation to a healthier lifestyle
