Facebook Fans Select Quasi the French Bulldog as Coconut Riddle’s Canine Co-Star for Upcoming Commercial
GOLDSBORO, N.C. (PRWEB) September 20, 2013 -- The search for a dog with enough personality and charm to match that of Coconut Riddle, the beloved terrier mascot of Riddle & Brantley, LLP, has ended with a whopping 1,326 Facebook “likes” for Quasi, the special needs French Bulldog from Clayton, N.C.
Quasi’s owner, Jennifer Eachus, shared the story of her family’s search for their perfect pup on Facebook— a journey that lasted five years but ended the day they met him. Quasi’s story resonated with Coconut’s fans, as Jennifer explained that the dog suffers from a congenital spinal problem and an aggressive form of cancer, which he is currently battling.
“We were told by his oncologist that his prognosis was not good,” Eachus said. Deciding to attack the problem head on, the Eachuses began multiple chemotherapy treatments for Quasi, and five months later he is going strong, with a spirit and charisma that the whole family loves.
“If you just look into his eyes and see that face, all you can do is see his will to survive,” said Eachus.
Now, the Eachuses are preparing for Quasi’s big close-up alongside Coconut in Riddle & Brantley’s latest commercial, slated to shoot September 19 in Goldsboro, N.C. The personal injury firm got an enormously positive response from “Coconut’s Casting Call,” receiving dozens of Facebook entries from dog owners in the area, all with their own enthusiasm for pet adoption advocacy.
Through Riddle & Brantley’s partnership with the SPCA of Wake County and the Wayne County Humane Society, the firm pledged to donate $1 for every “like” the winning dog received during the contest, up to $1,000. The outpouring of support for Quasi exceeded the number of votes expected, and the conversation his story spurred about the need for adoptive pet parents made “Coconut’s Casting Call” a great success.
