Facebook Login Proxy Unblocks Facebook in Workplaces Around the World
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 24, 2013 -- idcloak Technologies is pleased to announce the release of its Facebook Login Proxy – a free website-based service which allows users to discretely access the social media site on connections where it is blocked. The proxy provides censored office workers around the world with unrestricted access to their Facebook account.
“Our proxy is ideal for office environments because it only gives users access to the simplified mobile version of Facebook,” says idcloak’s senior researcher, Robin Welles. “Companies have legitimate reasons to block the social media site, such as reducing the risk of malware infection and denying staff access to addictive Facebook-based games. But the mobile version displayed on our proxy carries a lower risk of infection and will not run games.”
Asked about her views on the rights of staff to access the site, Welles had this to say: “It is not just companies that have legitimate reasons to block Facebook, staff often have valid reasons to retain access the site as well. For one, Facebook is fast becoming the default medium for communication between today’s friend and family networks. I mean, which company would block SMS?”
Welles additionally points to professional reasons staff should have access to the social media site: “No one can deny Facebook’s role in today’s business: whether it is marketing, the sharing of industry knowledge or just the improvement of professional relationships. In the medium to long term, it is suicidal for a modern company to shut their staff off from Facebook. The site has become just too integral to modern day business life.”
In addition to unblocking prohibited sites, the high-anonymity idcloak Facebook Login Proxy is able to fill other valuable roles, such as concealing a company’s registered IP address during research and communication. This application of anonymous proxies is discussed in Welles’ article: Hiding a Company IP Address and Data Privacy at Work.
idcloak is a Dallas-based developer of privacy and security proxy services.
September 2013 will see the launch of the idcloak VPN unblocker.
