Fakhoury Law Group Aids Governor in Plan to Revitalize Detroit
Troy, MI (PRWEB) February 06, 2014 -- In recent weeks, Troy-based Fakhoury Law Group, along with Global Detroit, have worked closely with the Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning in its development of a proposal on Investor Visa options as a viable strategy to help revitalize Detroit’s ailing economy. With the support of Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, and Detroit City Council members, on Thursday, January 20, 2014, Michigan Governor, Rick Snyder unveiled “Detroit is Open to The World,” and announced his plan to take the Investment Visa proposal to Washington DC. Under the Governor's proposal, over a period of five years, 50,000 additional visas would be designated for the city of Detroit as a pathway for entrepreneurial immigrants willing to invest, live, and work for at least five years in Detroit.
Fakhoury Law Group, the largest independent employment immigration law firm in Michigan, along with regional economic strategists, Global Detroit, have advocated for the expansion of immigration investment opportunities as a way to bring business and jobs to Michigan—especially Detroit. Following the Governor’s announcement, Fakhoury Law Group’s Managing Director Rami Fakhoury, Partner Matthew Morse, and Carmen Saleh, President of Fakhoury Global Immigration met with the Governor prior to him leaving for our nation’s capital to present the proposal. “Michigan needs to use every tool in its armory to attack today’s problems and immigration is a critical asset to the State as it moves forward in the 21st century. Fakhoury Law Group is proud to lend our expertise to this innovative and important initiative,” said Rami Fakhoury, Managing Director of Fakhoury Law Group.
