Falcon Structures Proves Portability With Model Workforce Housing Unit at Oil & Gas Events
Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 07, 2014 -- Falcon Structures, a leading provider of modified shipping containers for temporary housing, mobile offices, and industrial storage space, announced plans to exhibit its latest workforce housing unit at various oil and gas events this summer. In July, Falcon’s housing unit was already on display at the South Texas Oilfield Expo held at San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
The model unit is an 8-foot by 20-foot cargo container with 160 feet of interior living space. Built from a “one-tripper” Conex box, which is the best grade of shipping container available for modification, the unit features a bedroom, desk area, refrigerator, full bathroom, and storage space. Falcon leaders say their oilfield housing stands up to the elements much better than fabricated homes. The exhibit will showcase Falcon containers as convenient, long-lived assets.
“We’ve been producing this unit for different clients for a while now,” said Stephen Shang, CEO and co-founder of Falcon Structures. “It’s a great example of our capabilities and of the potential within a 20-foot container. We’re excited for expo attendees to see up-close how durable and comfortable container housing can be.”
As evidence of its portability and easy deployment, the unit is being transported to each expo by tilt-bed trailer. On location, it can be set into place by Falcon drivers. No special permits are required as the housing unit is designed for transport purposes.
“We could produce this particular unit in two weeks,” Shang explained. “Less if we have multiple box orders to scale the production. With water, sewer, and electrical hookup, it would be ready for immediate use on any concrete slab or gravel yard. We can also add a kitchen or remove the shower component, depending on a particular oilfield’s logistics.”
The model unit for gas and oilfield housing will be on display at Roseland’s Texas Showdown: Oil and Gas Expo, August 13 and 14, in Grapevine, Texas. Falcon will exhibit at booth 208. Later this summer, Falcon will visit the DUG Eagle Ford Conference and Exhibition, also held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio from September 15 through 17.
