September 17th is the start of the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival (Sept. 17-20), and this year looks like a spate of great weather through the weekend. For a complete schedule, visit the Georgian Resort website. Also, this weekend is Jazz at The Lake - the premier music festival in Lake George celebrating 30 years of great Jazz. This event is held in the bandstand at Shepard Park, a short walk form the Georgian Resort. For a complete schedule and a listing of the artists, visit Lake George Arts Project website.

Of course the real attraction in Fall is Mother Nature's yearly spectacle of color as the leaves change to brilliant yellows, golds and reds. Fall foliage in Lake George is spectacular and one of the best ways to see it is on a Lake Cruise. Lake George Steamboat Company has cruises daily 'till October 24th, including a luncheon cruise.
More foliage viewing opportunities - consider a Gondola Ride at nearby Gore Mt. (30 min. drive), a drive along Lake George to Fort Ticonderoga (45 min. drive) and a visit to the Fort and their Heroic Corn Maze (great for kids).
