Family ER + Urgent Care and Family Urgent Care PLUS announced today that both health care centers have earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® under the category of Ambulatory Health Care by demonstrating continuous compliance with its nationally-recognized standards. Both Family ER + Urgent Care in Irving, Texas, and Family Urgent Care PLUS in Frisco, Texas, underwent rigorous on-site surveys in November 2015. During the reviews, a Joint Commission surveyor evaluated compliance with ambulatory care standards involving coordination of care, monitoring for procedures that involve use of sedation or anesthesia, infection prevention and control, management of medications, and patient education and training.
