Family-Fun Takes Flight at the 8th Annual Harvest Balloon Festival
Flowery Branch, GA (PRWEB) October 04, 2017 -- Hot air balloons will float above Sterling on the Lake on Saturday, October 21, 2017 for the 8th Annual Harvest Balloon Festival, providing elevated entertainment for the whole family.
Held in the Village Green in the Sterling on the Lake community, the two-day Harvest Balloon Festival includes pumpkin painting, music, festival favorite foods, a petting zoo, bumper cars, dragon fly swing and more, with most of these activities included with admission. Tickets for tethered hot air balloon rides will be available on a first come, first served basis on Saturday from 5:30 pm – 7:30 p.m., weather permitting.
“The Harvest Balloon Festival is the highlight of the year at Sterling on the Lake,” said Jennifer Landers, Vice President of Operations for Newland Communities, master developer of Sterling on the Lake. “It offers a fun-filled day to our residents and guests while providing support to two great charities and sharing why we’re so proud of our beautiful community.”
According to Landers, over the last seven years, $190,000 in Harvest Balloon Festival proceeds have been donated to local nonprofit organizations. This year’s event is expected to draw roughly 10,000 attendees with proceeds from admission fees, ticket sales, and balloon rides supporting two local charities, Sisu (formerly Challenged Child and Friends) and the Hall County Animal Shelter. More information on both organizations will be available onsite at the event, including a pet adoption tent courtesy of the Hall County Animal Shelter.
Admission is $10 per adult, $5 for children under 5 and free for children under 2. Free festival parking is available at Flowery Branch High School (6603 Spout Springs Road). Complimentary shuttle buses will transport all guests to and from the festival. Buses will run until 10:00 p.m.
