Family Health Network Appoints Top Medical Expert from Johns Hopkins as Chief Medical Officer
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 17, 2016 -- Family Health Network -- Dr. Robert Kimball Kritzler has been appointed Family Health Network’s (FHN) new Chief Medical Officer effective Feb. 1st. Prior to accepting the position with FHN, Dr. Kritzler worked for nearly a decade at Johns Hopkins Healthcare (JHHC), a leader in innovative health care solutions and the premiere academic medical center in the nation, as Deputy Chief Medical Officer. As Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kritzler served as a member of the executive leadership group for medical and quality management, which consists of three health plans comprised of JHHC.
In his new role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kritzler will lead FHN’s efforts to ensure the appropriate delivery of affordable, quality health care services to the 230,000 members under its plan every day. This includes providing medical expertise for care management and the overall clinical vision for the organization. He is responsible for the development and implementation of medical policies, innovative clinical programs to promote wellness and prevention and utilization practices. Additionally, Dr. Kritzler supports and consults with many other departments including pharmacy, finance and provider relations to ensure quality, cost-efficient, continuity of care and effective resource management, which are essential to providing affordable health care services.

Dr. Kritzler is a board-certified physician with more than 30 years of medical expertise in utilization and care management, quality assurance and improvement and managing HMO operations. A medical degree graduate from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, Dr. Kritzler completed his residency in pediatrics at Babies and Children’s Hospital of New York. He received his fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. Throughout his career, he has managed to maintain a pediatric endocrine and pediatric clinical practice.
He is a member of the Academic Pediatric Association, American College of Physician Executives, Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society and a host of other professional affiliations. In November 2011, Dr. Kritzler assumed the Chairmanship of the Board for The Center for Health Value Innovations.
