Farmers & Families Day at West Frederick Farmers Market

Join the vendors at West Frederick Farmers Market on Saturday, September 30th from 10 am - 1 pm for “Farmers & Families Day” filled with educational fun (Market hours: 9 am – 1 pm). This special market day will incorporate activities to encourage kids to learn about farm-to-table foods.
Children of all ages will enjoy taking part in the “Find Your Food Scavenger Hunt.” Market visitors can pick up their clue cards at the West Frederick Farmers Market booth, then put on their thinking caps and search out the seven participating vendors with hints pointing towards farm fresh choices. Once the cards are complete and turned in for a prize drawing, one winner will be selected to receive $40 in Market Bucks to spend with participating vendors.
Visitors can also share their love of eating fresh foods at the #FrederickFarmFresh Mural. This photo op will incorporate kids’ favorite farm items and social media. Guests will add to the mural and have the opportunity to be featured on the West Frederick Farmers Market Facebook page and Instagram account letting the world know that they eat #FrederickFarmFresh.
After searching out and sharing their favorite goods, families can Plant-a-Seed to take home and watch grow. Everything needed to plant a seed including biodegradable cups, soil and a variety of seeds will be available. A description of the plant the seed will produce will also be included.
In addition to the interactive activities, Lizzie West & Company will entertain market goers with their laid back singer-songwriter style covering songs in all genres across many eras.
Bring the whole family to shop Frederick County’s largest farmers market with over 30 vendors selling fresh produce, dairy, local meat, eggs, plants and much more! West Frederick Farmers Market is located at 757 E Patrick Street (the Great Frederick Fairgrounds) every Saturday now through November, 9 am - 1pm.
