Fashion on the Factory Floor Showcases 50 Made in NYC Designers at Inaugural Holiday Market

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Factory Floor, a 22,000-square-foot, pop-up marketplace at Industry City, will kick off the holiday shopping season by featuring New York City-based fashion designers. “Fashion on the Factory Floor” will showcase handmade apparel, accessories and jewelry from more than 50 independent fashion designers.

The pop-up market is presented by Made In NYC, Industry City, Con Edison and Citi Foundation, with support from Manufacture NY, Save the Garment Center, the Brooklyn Navy Yard and the Emerging Designer. The market is open to the public and will run for two weekends starting November 23, at Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn (241 37th Street).

“Industry City is exploding with a wide variety of sub-sectors that make up the innovation economy in New York City,” said Andrew Kimball, CEO of Industry City. “We are thrilled to provide a unique venue, the Factory Floor, and partner with Made in NYC to showcase emerging fashion designers and promote local manufacturing.”

“Fashion on the Factory Floor” will include clothing for men, women and children, handbags, jewelry and other accessories. This is the second Factory Floor show presented by Industry City. The first show featured more than 40 local furniture and home goods designer-manufacturers and drew a crowd of more than 3000 people over the course of its two-weekend run.
