Father of Microsoft Dynamics AX, Hal Howard, Joins Hitachi Solutions

Howard has transitioned from his recent role as Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Dynamics ERP Research and Development to Chief Technology Advisor for Hitachi Solutions America. Howard’s technical leadership and 10 years of experience with Microsoft building Microsoft Dynamics AX make him an exciting addition to the team.

During his tenure at Microsoft, Howard affectionately became known as the “Father of AX” and cultivated a reputation for his wide depth of technical knowledge and charismatic personality. Howard has spent the last 10 years in various leadership capacities within Microsoft Dynamics, most recently as Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Dynamics ERP Research and Development. Howard has also been responsible for global innovation efforts for the Microsoft Dynamics portfolio of products, including Microsoft Dynamics AX, NAV, GP and SL.
As a strategic advisor for Hitachi Solutions, Hal Howard will collaborate with the global team to lead strategic initiatives to develop innovative and differentiated business solutions for Dynamics. Howard will continue his passionate work evangelizing Dynamics to end users and companies.

Howard holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics from Kentucky Wesleyan College and serves on the board of directors for the University of Washington’s Supply Chain Management Program.
Howard is a family man and wine enthusiast. He and his wife have two children. They collect rare wines from around the world and own their own wineries in Washington and California. In his spare time, Howard also enjoys playing golf, racquetball, poker, and other strategy games.
