Todd will be sculpting live in The Signature Gallery during the Western ArtWalk, giving visitors the opportunity to meet and interact with the young and personable artist. Fortunate to study under the late renowned sculptor Ken Payne, Todd was encouraged to pursue his dream of becoming a fine artist. His goal is to create a story in bronze, using the facial expressions and emotions of the subjects to bring his stories to life. Todd captures that moment frozen in time which stirs the imagination of the viewer. Sharing the joy of creating with those he meets, Todd is determined to continue to explore, learn, and create.
Scottsdale ArtWalk, Thursday, February 13th, 2014 from 7-9pm
The Signature Gallery on 7177 E. Main Street, will present Jan Van Ek, “Inspired by Angels”.
As a creative complement to Scottsdale’s Arabian Horse Show, The Signature Gallery is hosting a show for Oregon artist Jan Van Ek, showcasing her magnificent bronze sculpture and offering visitors the rare opportunity to meet and interact with the accomplished artist. Jan Van Ek depicts the equine as a creature of romance, power, and freedom. This is why her horses are rarely sculpted with humans in the composition, and never sculpted with tack of any kind to interrupt the flow of the magnificent forms of the horse in motion. Since earning a BFA in sculpture, Jan has spent 25 years establishing herself as a nationally recognized equine sculptor. She built her dream studio near her childhood home in 2004 where she owns and trains horses. In 2008 the American Academy of Equine Art awarded Jan their most prestigious award, The Founders' Award, for excellence in sculpture.
