Federal Court Overseeing Thousands of Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuits Set to Convene Joint Status Conference for All Litigations, Bernstein Liebhard LLP Reports

According to an Order issued on December 2, 2014, the Court is scheduled to convene a Joint Status Conference in all of the proceedings on January 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Parties have been directed to submit a proposed agenda to the Court by noon on January 26, 2015.

Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation - MDL No. 2327; and In Re: Neomedic Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation - MDL No. 2511. Jeffrey S. All of the lawsuits pending in these proceedings similarly allege that the defendants’ surgical mesh products designed to treat pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence caused women to suffer mesh erosion, infection, chronic pain, pain during sexual intercourse and other serious vaginal mesh complications . Plaintiffs in these cases further claim that the device manufacturers failed to provide adequate warnings about their products’ risk, and that the implants were not subjected to sufficient pre-market testing to ensure their safety and effectiveness.
