FEI to Present at 2015 National Training Institute
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (PRWEB) September 09, 2015 -- FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with a 35-year history and a leader in workforce resilience from crisis management to EAP, will present a workshop on cyber terrorism at this week’s National Center for Victims of Crime 2015 National Training Institute.
The 2015 National Training Institute is Sept. 9-11 in Anaheim, California. FEI’s Senior Director Terri Howard will present as part of an informative workshop, “Cyber Terrorism or Data Breach? A New Role for Victim Services,” Sept. 10, 1:30 p.m. PDT. This workshop provides insight into personal security and identity safety issues, as well as the emotional effects victims endure when there is a data breach.
The session will cover breaches of data by cyber terrorism used as a threat or by disgruntled employees/hackers of private business, institutes of higher learning, or state agencies. Participants will learn about the impact on victims as a result of compromised personal security and/or identity. The presentation also will describe how to assist victims in recovery and in the prevention of future re-victimization.
Howard will present alongside Laura Ivkovich from the Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime, Michael Kaiser from the National Cyber Security Alliance and Merry O’Brien from the National ID Theft Victim Assistance Network.
Howard is responsible for working with FEI corporate clients to ensure they are prepared for, can respond to and recover from a crisis incident. She also coordinates the people support and psychological first aid services for those impacted by crises, and she is responsible for developing drills and exercises aimed at testing current plans and procedures. Over the years, Howard has contributed to several international standards and guidelines on crisis management and workplace violence prevention, including ASIS, a global community of more than 38,000 security practitioners, and the FBI.
