FEI to Present at Campus Safety and National School Safety Conferences
Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with a 35-year history and a leader in workforce resilience from crisis management to EAP, will present sessions at two upcoming conferences – Campus Safety Magazine’s 2015 Campus Safety Conference and the School Safety Advocacy Council’s 2015 National School Safety Conference.
The 2015 Campus Safety Conference runs July 13-14 in Chicago. FEI’s Senior Director of Crisis Management Services, Vivian Marinelli, will present an informative workshop, “Psychological First Aid: Addressing the Human Aspect of Crisis,” on July 13 at 2:45 p.m. CST. This presentation will discuss how campuses can provide psychological first aid to the victims of disasters in order assure these individuals a smooth transition into post-incident life. Participants will discover the challenges and opportunities associated with providing psychological first aid to victims through the real-life experiences of other campuses in the past.
The 2015 National School Safety Conference runs July 27-31 in Las Vegas. Marinelli also will present an engaging presentation, “Human Impacts of Crisis on Campus: Ensuring the Safety and Recovery of Victims,” on July 30 at 10 a.m. PDT. Participants will discover how to deal with symptoms of normal physical, behavioral, and psychological reactions to trauma and how to communicate with those affected by crisis events. Additionally, the session will share case studies of schools who have experienced crisis, specific challenges they faced and lessons learned for successful recovery. In addition to the presentation, FEI is also exhibiting at the conference.
Marinelli has provided support to individuals and families impacted by mass casualty disasters including aviation accidents, terrorist attacks and natural disasters since 1999. She works directly with customers’ emergency response teams to review existing emergency response and family assistance plans.
