Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (FAARM) Modules to Be Offered at 21st Annual World Congress On Anti-Aging, Regenerative and Aesthetic Medicine
(PRWEB) November 29, 2013 -- The A4M’s largest event in Anti-Aging, Regenerative and Aesthetic Medicine will host over 3,000 medical professionals and over 250 exhibiting companies at the Venetian Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas, NV the second weekend in December. In addition to the innovative educational program, expert guest speakers and the general conference sessions, the A4M will be offering five Fellowship courses, and a few certification programs.
The following FAARM modules are being offered live in Las Vegas for CME credits.
Module I (A): A Metabolic, Anti-Aging & Functional Approach to Endocrinology, will feature Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH, MS; James Wilson, ND, DC, PhD; Sahar Swidan, PharmD, BCPS; Andrew Heyman, MD; Benoit Tano, MD, PhD; and Filomena Trindade, MD, MPH as presenters. Topics to be covered include hormonal changes in men and women due to aging, structure of sex hormones, functions of estrogen, testosterone and DHEA in the body, and the intricate web of hormones in the body, among others.
Module V: Clinical Intensives includes speakers Gloria Hakkarainen, MD; Jim LaValle, RPh, CCN; Todd LePine, MD; Jack Monaco, MD; Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH, MS; Sahar Swidan, PharmD, BCPS; and Filomena Trindade, MD, MPH. Objectives for this course are to review hundreds of case histories and learning nutritional treatments for osteoporosis, ADD/ADHD, allergies, heart failure, diabetes, stress reduction, and several other chronic health issues. At the end of this course, attendees will be able to leave with the confidence and ability to treat patients the next day from a Metabolic and Anti-Aging Medicine approach.
Module XVI (D): Metabolic Cardiovascular Medicine presenters are Joel Kahn, MD, FACC, FACP; Mark Houston, MD, MS, FACP, FAHA; Jim LaValle, RPh, CCN; Edward Linker, MD; Jeffery Morrison, MD; Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH, MS; and Douglas Thompson, DDS. Select topics include metabolic syndrome in cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance, dysglycemia, and occupational risk factors for heart disease, among others.
Module XXII: Genomics speakers are Joseph Lamb, MD; Jay Lombard, Elizabeth Stuller, MD; and Sahar Swidan, PharmD, BCPS. Attendees will learn current progress and limitations in the genomic and proteomic evaluation of patients with preclinical and clinical cardiovascular disease, how to identify appropriate diagnostic and treatment strategies utilizing allopathic and integrative modalities and how to personalize individual lifestyle change programs for the prevention/treatment of preclinical and clinical; among several other learning objectives.
Module XXIII(C) is the Lifestyle Coaching Certification offered by A4M presented by Barbara Fagan and Cindy McKinely-Cole. Participants in this certification will learn the fundamentals of a co-active coaching model, understand the co-active coaching relationship, actively engage in learning coaching skills, and discuss the coaching power triangle, among other topics.
In addition to the Fellowship on Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (FAARM), the Fellowship on Integrative Cancer Therapies (ICT), will be offering Module XIII: Nutritional Integrative Cancer Therapies. Speakers include Director of the Fellowship, Dr. Mark Rosenberg; Dr. Paul Anderson; Dr. Akbar Khan; Dr. Dwight McKee; Dr. Eric Marsden. This module conveys the role of nutrients in cancer therapy, including those that can increase or decrease the effectiveness of radiation and chemotherapy, inhibit cancer-dependent enzymes, cause apoptosis of cancer cells, inhibit tumor invasion or enhance the immune system. Also discussed are nutrient and herb interactions with conventional cancer therapies.
Sexual Health Treatment (D), part of the Sexual Health Certification will feature director of the certification program, Jennifer Landa, MD; Nick Delgado, MD; Sara Gottfried, MD; Michael Krychman, MD; and Lizbeth Roy, DO. Some objectives for this course include understanding treatment of sexual dysfunction with oxytocin, being able to identify and treat adrenal dysfunction leading to sexual dysfunction, learning about pellet therapy, and how hormones play a role in sexual dysfunction and how to treat these issues.
This event is an AMA PRA Category 1 accredited educational activity worth a maximum of 28 CME credits.
