Asheville, NC (PRWEB) February 15, 2016 -- Native New Yorker and screenwriter, Holly Bower, has just written her second satirical critique of Donald Trump for The Huffington Post: President Trump Tackles Producing, Starting with the ABC of It.
Bower explains her inspiration for the article, “Do you have any idea how f***ing hard it is for a woman to get a movie made? Especially an older woman? Hollywood is still the most sexist, ageist, non-diverse industry in America … so I figured the most sexist, probably ageist, and non-diverse presidential candidate we’ve had since George Wallace would be the perfect producer for my movie. If Trump wins, he’ll need me to make him look better, and if he loses, he’ll have nothing better to do than work with me, so I figure this is a total win-win for Holly Bower.”
In the article (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/holly-bower/president-trump-tackles-p_b_9212176.html) Bower introduces all the players involved in making her movie, “Teach Me Tonight,” and manages to skewer every single Republican candidate.
Here is an excerpt from Bower's Huffington Post article: "1st Assistant Director (runs set, keeps crew/extras in check) is Marco Rubio. (The Florida senate didn't even notice he was gone.) Plus, the job requires a "great communicator." PT had also considered offering this position to Ted Cruz but he is so "unpleasant" (even though Cruz kept on saying "I like Donald") he decided against it. Chris Christie (ex-governor of New Jersey) solicited Trump for the Teamster Captain's job (in charge of all trucks). PT felt why not, a perfect fit - also, it will take Christie's ego down a few notches. Sitting in trucks all day can be kinda boring so Trump's board game, The Game, is the only diversion allowed. Finally, because PT "really, really likes" Ben Carson, Ben will give a Short Sermon before filming each day. And, if anyone gets hurt, as happened yesterday, the doctor will be on the set."
Bower is also the writer, producer, and director of a short video, “Noodling With Viagra,” featured in The Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/holly-bower/noodling-round-with-viagr_b_8229246.html) and popular on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEfnByMVLms). Ageism and sexism inherent in the film industry motivated Bower to write, direct, and produce this video in order to gain attention to her yet-to-be sold film scripts. Bower adds, “Trump is a huge attention-getter, a publicity machine. My purpose in creating these parodies with him as the protagonist is to engage in asymmetrical warfare and use his fame and name against him, and in doing so draw attention both to the reasons women and minorities shouldn’t vote for him and of course to enable me to sell my film scripts. As a former professional photographer, magazine writer, and now script writer, my age, 78, is an obstacle in an industry obsessed, much like Trump himself if you look at his marriages, with youth and beauty.”
Holly Bower (http://hollybower.com/index.php), the first woman union still photographer in the motion picture industry, had to battle in court to receive her union membership in the early 1970s. Shortly thereafter, Sydney Pollack, director of Three Days of the Condor, asked Ms. Bower to shoot the lonely, isolated photographs which depict Faye Dunaway's character. These photographs remain an integral part of this film's texture. Bower has taken still photographs for over 40 features and television shows. She has three screenplays to her credit.
