This webinar will provide a general overview of current U.S. export controls under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), discuss several key export control terms, and discuss recordkeeping requirements under the EAR and ITAR. The webinar will also cover regulatory requirements that development contractors should keep in mind during project start-up, implementation, and closedown. Export compliance best practices will also be discussed.
The speaker for this complimentary webinar will be Julio A. Fernandez, Principal Consultant at Fernandez Export Advisory LLC. Fernandez previously served as Team Lead of contractor support for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Export Controls Group, and has experience implementing export compliance programs for global development projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). His expertise includes the Export Administration Regulations (BIS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (DDTC), Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions programs, and Foreign Trade Regulations (Census). Fernandez also has experience working on export licensing, advisory opinions, and commodity classification/commodity jurisdiction requests.
