Festival of Lighted Boats Sets Sail through Port of Kalama on Saturday after Waiting out Flooding and High Winds
Kalama, WA (PRWEB) December 16, 2015 -- Kalama's first annual Festival of Lighted Boats sails through Kalama this Saturday, December 19, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Port of Kalama's Marine Park. The event was rescheduled due to flooding and high winds last week.
In addition to inviting visitors to the boat parade, the Kalama organizations invite shoppers to come enjoy its quaint downtown and delicious dining options. Last week’s area flooding has subsided and Kalama businesses are open to dazzle visitors with gifts to round out holiday shopping and celebration.
Restaurants and an impressive antique section with roots going back decades attract tourists from all over the region. For those who want to trade in the big city pace of the holidays for simple, small town appeal, Kalama will charm the bustle right out of visitors.
“Right off of I-5, 30 minutes from Portland, shoppers will find this darling small town has so much to offer,” says Kalama Chamber President, Taryn Nelson. “And once you’re here, you’ll be blown away not only by the natural beauty, but the of shops, specialty businesses and dining we have to offer. We want shoppers and diners to know we welcome them!”
Kalama’s appeal also lies in its natural surroundings and its ability to satisfy a get-away-from-it-all feel without being too far away from anything. Locally owned restaurants serve home-cooked meals and fresh brewed coffee. People still treat people like family.
