Fifth Generation Rockefeller Calls for Declaration of Interdependence - Freedom from “Gridlock as a Political Strategy”
San Francisco (PRWEB) July 01, 2015 -- Practically Republican, a community of concerned citizens seeking to restore sensible, issue-oriented pragmatism to the Republican party, announced the release of the book, “Practically Republican: How Concerned Citizens Can Renew & Reclaim the GOP,” by founder Dave Spencer. With the Republican presidential primary season approaching, it is critical for voters to forge a movement that politicians cannot ignore, Spencer said. The goal is to shake free from a party valuing partisanship and ideological purity more than progress solving the critical issues facing the nation.
Spencer is the grandson of John D. Rockefeller III, and is a proud bearer of the Rockefeller family’s legacy of philanthropy and political involvement––a long history of government service that includes Senators, Governors and a Vice President. The term, “Rockefeller Republican,” which he embraces, refers to a time when the GOP was a problem-solving party that was fiscally disciplined, fully accountable, open-minded on social issues, and willing to compromise in order to find political solutions to pressing national problems.
“We’ve got to free ourselves from gridlock as a political strategy,” Spencer says. “There was a time when the Republican Party didn’t view compromise as a dirty word. Returning to this approach is not a step backward, but a giant step forward.”
