Financial Managers School to be Offered Twice in 2016
Madison, WI (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- The Financial Managers School, co-sponsored by the Financial Managers Society, based in Chicago, and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, will be held twice in 2016 due to popularity and demand.
Applications are now being accepted for both programs—the first on May 9-13, 2016, in Amherst, Mass., and the second, Sept. 18-23, 2016, in Madison, Wis. Potential participants may choose the location that they prefer. The Amherst location is featured for the first time this year, and one reason is that the Madison location was completely sold out last year.
The school, designed by experienced CFOs especially for CFOs, CEOs, and controllers within financial institutions, offers a week-long immersion approach using an integrated case study on asset/liability management (ALM). The topics will focus on: identifying major financial strengths and weaknesses of institutions; examining interest rate risk profiles; evaluating issues relating to base strategy forecasts; analyzing loan and investment portfolios; making pricing decisions; and formulating and communicating effective strategies to improve the institution's overall profitability.
CFOs and senior managers involved in the financial-management responsibilities of banks and credit unions are encouraged to apply early while space remains at the program location of their choice. Both of the programs will provide participants with a chance to learn the unique concepts and terminology of finance and ALM for financial institutions. They also will present practical implementation tools for managing an institution's balance sheet, developing effective strategies, and communicating those strategies to the board and senior management in order to ensure effective decision-making.
