FinTech Sandbox Announces Demo Day 3.0, Reveals Lineup of Presenters
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 17, 2016 -- FinTech Sandbox, a nonprofit that provides FinTech startups free access to financial data and infrastructure to accelerate development, today announced a series of events highlighting the innovative FinTech solutions Sandbox participants have built. Demo Day 3.0, with presentations from US- and UK-based startups, will take place at the Hatch Fenway in Boston on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. A private Fundraising Symposium and Sandbox Alumni reception follow on November 2.
The event will attract more than 350 FinTech Sandbox sponsors, partners, and startups; members of the media, industry analysts, academics, and specially-invited decision-makers from venture funds and financial services firms.
Demo Day 3.0
With free access to financial data, FinTech Sandbox startups have developed cutting edge products that will transform the enterprise and consumer financial services economy. FinTech Sandbox startups use technologies such as machine learning, high-performance computing, blockchain, and virtual reality to tackle some the greatest problems challenging the industry today. This event provides an opportunity to engage with the future of finance. Featured Alumni Speaker
John "Fawce" Fawcett, Founder and CEO of Quantopian, will share the Quantopian story as featured alumni speaker at Demo Day 3.0. Quantopian is a free platform with a vibrant online community of over 90,000 members from 180 countries creating institutional-quality investment algorithms. Quantopian was one of the first companies accepted to the Sandbox program. Fawce is a Co-Founder and Board Member of FinTech Sandbox.
Invitation-only Fundraising Symposium
Demo Day will be followed by a private Fundraising Symposium for FinTech startups hosted by Sandbox sponsor Silicon Valley Bank, and a reception for Sandbox alumni.
“Demo Day 3.0 will showcase a new, diverse group of startups that are leveraging data and infrastructure from our partners to meet emerging needs in financial services,” said Jean Donnelly, Executive Director of FinTech Sandbox. “The next day’s alumni reception lets us celebrate the success of Sandbox residents who have graduated and are making an impact in the marketplace.”
FinTech Sandbox offers data and infrastructure from 30 partners, and collaborates with ten accelerator programs. More than 50 startups from around the world have been accepted as residents. The Sandbox has received more than 250 applications from FinTech entrepreneurs worldwide in the 18 months since launch.
