First Book in Spin the Globe Series Gains Marketing Traction in 2015
BURLESON, Texas (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- Author and retired Navy pharmacist Edward Moldenhauer loves to tell his children stories at night. His stories serve not only to entertain his children, but also give him an opportunity to share with them his pool of “Ed’s Useless Trivia,” as his wife calls it. One night, Moldenhauer ran out of story ideas. That is, until he saw a globe sitting on top of a dresser nearby.
Moldenhauer now spins the globe every night and allows his children’s fingers to fall at random. He then tells his children an educational story based on that geographic location. Moldenhauer’s 2014 children’s book, “Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom: Dreamtime in Alice Springs” (published by Trafford Publishing), is one of his many stories, serving as the first installment of the Spin the Globe series. Moldenhauer hopes to reach a larger audience with a new book marketing plan this year.
Frederick von Wigglebottom loves to travel. He does so via the spin of a magical globe, which sends him to any number of places in the world. Moldenhauer’s first book in the series finds Frederick in Alice Springs, Australia. There, Frederick meets George, a native aborigine boy, and Madeline, a girl of European heritage.
Throughout this premier installment of the Spin the Globe series, Frederick and readers alike learn numerous facts about the Australian Outback and the town of Alice Springs. From the history behind the Arrernte tribe to the regional slang spoken by the citizens of Alice Springs, Moldenhauer aims to give readers a thorough understanding of what makes Frederick’s destination unique.
Jacquelyn Gilchrist of The US Review of Books said Moldenhauer's book is “an exciting exploration for youngsters. The author's creativity is surpassed only by his impressive knowledge of indigenous cultures, local legends, and historical gems.”
