First Capital Connect Gives Passengers Still Cheaper Weekend Travel for a Month
London, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Peterborough (PRWEB UK) 25 October 2013 -- First Capital Connect is giving passengers an additional 10% discount on its 25%-plus cheaper ‘Super Off Peak’ weekend fares from 26 October until 24 November – just in time for the half term holidays.
These fares are valid across the entire First Capital Connect network with the exception of journeys that both start and finish within the London Travelcard zone.
This means passengers will now save 32.5% on their off-peak ticket when compared to the off-peak day return fare.
On top of that, railcards will give a further one-third off meaning passengers could make significant savings.
First Capital Connect Managing Director David Statham said:
“This is a fantastic offer for our passengers using First Capital Connect at the weekends until 24 November, especially with the half term holidays about to begin.
“Last month we extended our 25%-plus Super Off-Peak discount to nearly all our fares. This extra 10% for a month will give passengers still greater value for money.”

Editor’s notes:
Since 2009, 25% Super Off-Peak weekend and bank holiday fares had been available only to London and stations inside the London Travelcard zone north of London and for ‘FCC only’ fares to and from London on the Brighton mainline.
Last month (September) FCC extended the fare to all journeys with the exception of those that both start and finish within the London Travelcard zone. This was to encourage still greater use of the railway in the off-peak.
The latest offer discounts all Super Off-Peak tickets by a further 10%.
