First Lady of Virginia to keynote at MOAA Military Spouse Symposium in Va. Beach
Alexandia, Va. (PRWEB) February 06, 2015 -- Virginia’s First Lady, Mrs. Dorothy McAuliffe, will be the keynote speaker at the Military Spouse Symposium “Keeping a Career on the Move®”, hosted by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center, Virginia Beach.
This award-winning professional development conference is free and open to all military spouses, currently serving servicemembers, retirees, veterans and surviving spouses.
There will be two panel discussions throughout the day. The first panel titled “Nuts and Bolts of Spouse Employment” will focus on state and federal policies, national programs, installation resources and local employment and educational opportunities that assist military spouses in advancing their career opportunities.
In the afternoon, military spouses will lead a second panel discussion titled “Real Spouses, Real Stories.” Attendees will learn about fellow military spouses who have navigated a wide variety of industries and strategic volunteerism opportunities to keep their careers on the move while "married to the military."
