First Regional "Pathways To Success" Hiring Event To Take Place
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 20, 2015 -- State Senator Connie M. Leyva, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, the Workforce Development Boards (WIBs) of San Bernardino County and Los Angeles County, Community and Senior Services (CSS), America’s Job Center of California and Goodwill Southern California (GSC), have, for the first time, joined forces to hold the Pathways to Success Regional Hiring Event from 8:30AM to 2PM on Friday, August 28, at The Village @ Indian Hill (1444 E. Holt Ave., Entrance 1, Pomona, 91767).
The unprecedented hiring event will be more than the standard job fair where prospective employers distribute information on their organizations as job seekers pass out resumes. Job seekers will benefit from a unique format where each attendee will participate in on site interviews and some may be offered jobs during the event. Job seekers will be pre-screened to match specific employment criteria identified by partnering employers. Employers will conduct interviews during the hiring event and may extend employment offers to applicants immediately, on-site, or schedule next step interviews and/or screenings.

Over 20 employer partners, including Williams-Sonoma, Macy’s, Loomis, Auto Zone, Robertson’s Ready Mix, Cemex, Pomona Valley Hospital, Sprint, Pomona Unified School District, Cal Micro Recycling, and People’s Care will participate in the hiring event, and have made a commitment to hiring local job seekers.
In advance of the event, preparatory Workshops will be offered to job seekers who will receive tips on resume development, interview skills, dressing for success and how to complete online job applications.
