First Renton Legal Marijuana Store Taking Its Time, Doing it Right
Renton, WA (PRWEB) February 19, 2015 -- Renton will soon see its first legal recreational marijuana store and it looks to be a unique blend of coffee house meets wine bar meets modern pot shop. The founders of The Evergreen Market have been taking a comprehensive approach to creating a fun and inviting space for their customers. Jeff Anderson, one of the owners states, “Instead of rushing to get our doors open, we have been methodical in developing our brand, design concept, security plan, banking procedures and relationships with city officials. Also, we have been researching growers, innovative cannabis products and have hired an experienced manager. We have put together the necessary ingredients to establish a progressive business within the Renton community.”
Instead of creating a store similar to other medical or legal pot shops, The Evergreen Market hired Artitudes of Issaquah and KBKM of Seattle to develop a creative brand and unique retail experience. The “market” concept will be apparent throughout the shopping experience. Another owner, Eric Gaston, explains the thought process behind the store, “Our job is to find the best growers in Washington State – those with expertise and a true passion for what they are doing. When we find those people and products and share them with our community, our customers will love us. That is our goal.” He continues by noting, "Not all of our focus is around finding top-shelf flower, we want to accommodate all customers, including the novice user through lower dose edibles, the expert user through our concentrate product line and those desiring medical benefits through high-CBD products. We will have it all - a true market experience."
Education is also a high priority for The Evergreen Market. They plan to educate their customers through a unique library and bar concept. Customers will be able to sit and relax at the bar and discuss marijuana with an expert, who matches the desired customer experience with the appropriate cannabis product. Gaston states, "Our love for the industry and our customers will be apparent and our passion will show across all of our product lines." They also plan to have a dedicated space for growers, authors and other industry experts to come and meet their customers.
The Evergreen Market has progressive plans to use technology to enhance the customer experience. Anderson states, “We are working on technology that will let our customers reserve online and then pick-up and pay in our store. We are also going to have a fast-pass window which will allow customers to purchase products quickly.” He also adds, “Social media will be a great way to connect our growers with our customers and listen to what they have to say.”
The I-502 legal marijuana store is scheduled to open the first part of April and is located at 409 Rainier Avenue North, across from the Renton Municipal Airport. The Evergreen Market’s second location in Auburn, WA is scheduled to open in late May. Both stores can be found at http://www.theevergreenmarket.com, on Facebook and @evergreenmkt.
