First Report in Three Years Uncovers State of CICS in the Modern Enterprise

The report contains findings about the importance of CICS today, developing trends, and what the future holds.

The report, which is based on a recent Enterprise Tech Journal survey, analyzes the continued use of business-critical applications through CICS and those applications’ relevance in modern uses like mobile and web. It also considers its relationship to business-critical data, as well as looking at how respondents view its future and examining past predictions for accuracy. The report further reveals variances in usage based on industry.

Enterprise Tech Journal conducted the survey with its readers in late 2014. Respondents had to be working in organizations with CICS and z/OS to qualify to complete the survey. These respondents came from broad role categories like systems programmers, architects, managers, and senior managers. H&W received exclusive access to the aggregated survey results from the publisher of Enterprise Tech Journal in order to provide insights into the meaning of the data.
